  1. Hey everyone,

I’ve been studying the 16-season color analysis for a while now, trying to figure out my exact season. I’ve taken a handful of evaluations online, and my results are all over the place—sometimes they say I’m a Deep Summer, other times Soft Winter, and occasionally even Dark Summer. The problem is, when I look at the descriptions, they often look nearly identical, especially with the muted and cool tones mentioned in both Soft Winter and Deep Summer profiles. It’s really confusing and a bit frustrating because I’m trying to build a reliable wardrobe palette that actually flatters me rather than guessing blindly.

I do notice my skin sits on the cooler end of the spectrum, but I’m not sure if it’s truly muted or slightly brighter, which is where the Soft Winter vs. Deep Summer debate is leaving me uncertain. I also want to understand the overall aesthetic feel that each subtype brings—I keep reading about how Deep Summers have a calm, understated elegance while Soft Winters are cooler but more contrasted, but it’s hard to figure out which colors actually work for me.

So, I found this infographic that maps out the subtle contrasts between adjacent 16-season categories, which was helpful to an extent— colour analysis test . Still, I’m curious about real-life experiences. Has anyone faced these kinds of overlapping results between these cooler, muted seasons? Do you have preferred techniques for seeing the contrast? Or even better, photos showing how certain colors really make a difference on your skin and overall appearance?

Any tips on how to approach these nuanced distinctions or personal stories would be welcome. I’d love to hear what worked for you in making sense of these overlapping seasons. Thanks in advance!
